Hi Shawna, I really like this one. The other day I looking at another image of this car you have on your site and was thinking how good it looked. I also use photomatix and love it. I'm glad to see someone else as excited about HDR as I am. You are right about just going for it when shooting this stuff. I hope to see that photo where your friends dad parked the truck in the picture.

Shawna, I started using Hdr about a year ago and have learned a bit since I began... One of the mistakes I believe people make is that it can become obvious that Hdr is being used. The picture will many times have a overprocessed look to it and you will see a ghosting on the horizon or parts of the picture where there is a big contrast between light and dark..... Another tendency is to bring too much color out of the photo as well. I would suggest using the Hdr plugin that photomatix offers, shooting at low iso speeds and using a duplicate layer on the conversion so that you can then layer mask out the parts of the picture that you don't want to have the conversion to make it feel more lifelike. Don't worry about bracketing as the plugin will allow for a single image to be converted quickly..... I was reading how Gary on his blog was having a problem with a moving object.... You don't need to bracket if you have the plugin or if you do it the hard way and change the exif data in whatever RAW converter you use but, it is imperative that you shoot your HDR's in raw. Most photographers don't know much about Raw but, for HDR images it is a neccesisty in my opinion..... Hope this helps and feel free to send me a line if you have more questions!

P.S. tommorow I will be posting a image called the artist for you where I used Hdr oinly part on the picture and layer masked out the rest. There will be a man wearing a pair of glasses and I used HDR for just the reflection that the sunglasses caste to show you an example of layer masking the Hdr instead of using it on the whole image.
