Calusarus from ST SORLIN EN VALLOIRE, FranceUsually, I don't like portraits where people looks at the camera. But it works with this one, maybe because she's so serious… 6 Jan 2008 7:01am D3Wantabe from Regina, Sask, CanadaDoes everyone you know hang around old buildings? The lack of a smile fits the era when photos were taken in old houses years ago. If you’ve seen photos of the ancestors of this area no one ever smiled. The subject fits, the lack of a smile and the facial features work. Again your Crazy Redhead, well done!!! 6 Jan 2008 5:15pm Scott Collins from Ontario, United StatesI think D3Wantabe is right, if she were smiling, it would be just another snapshot, but the lack of expression gives the photo a candid feel. The contrast range in this photo is spot on also. Great job. 7 Jan 2008 11:04pm Barbara from Florida, United StatesEverything works for the shot, including the B&W 10 Jan 2008 2:37am Bonj from Jefferson City, United StatesThe depth and detail really adds to the overall shot.
