Does everyone you know hang around old buildings? The lack of a smile fits the era when photos were taken in old houses years ago. If you’ve seen photos of the ancestors of this area no one ever smiled. The subject fits, the lack of a smile and the facial features work. Again your Crazy Redhead, well done!!!

I think D3Wantabe is right, if she were smiling, it would be just another snapshot, but the lack of expression gives the photo a candid feel. The contrast range in this photo is spot on also. Great job.
