The End Of the World

Posted by Shawna (Regina, Canada) on 1 February 2011 in Abstract & Conceptual and Portfolio.

I had an idea with a gas mask theme, used my nephew as a model and went out on a blustery winter afternoon and shot. I know it is a little bit of the weird!!

Thank you for visiting my photoblog. I am supposed to post daily but sometimes life gets in the way. Please feel free to leave a comment anytime.

Great Shot! I remember you telling me about wanting to take this - it's even more powerful than I imagined it would be - I LOVE it.

@Gregory J. Buckland: Thanks, I am glad everyone so far doesn't think I am falling off the edge of the world!! LOL

@carl yeomans: Thanks Carl, I guess that is a good way of describing what I am looking for, "things that don't belong" . There is 4 images in total but I spread them out over the week. Stay tuned. I think I will continue this theme when the weather is better, and in a few different locations.

a very interesting idea for a photo and you used the conditions well to emphasise the "end of the world" atmosphere!

great image, and he really stands out in the snow background, does the end of the world begin in Canada?

@JoeB: With the weather we have been getting I have to wonder!! LOL (Right now it is
-27 degrees C with the wind chill it is -39 degrees C)

Noticed the mask straight off - I guess the eye is attuned that kinda thing ! I sure like how 'different' this is.
